History (since 1996)

In 1996, Florencia San Martin Brück, with a Masters in Business Administration, Javier Krasuk, with a Masters in Architecture and Dennis Jones, with a Masters in Architecture and an Associate Professor at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, combined forces to create 9th Insight.

With a thorough grounding in graphic and multimedia design as well as a full understanding of the latest technological innovations and solutions, 9th Insight positioned itself in the vanguard of e-solutions. With this same proven business vision and foresight, in 1998 the studio team of creative artists, interactive designers, marketing professionals, producers and programmers transformed 9th Insight from a web development company to a full-service marketing communications firm addressing the growing needs of its clients for integrated and customized solutions. In 2006, 9th Insight’s continues research for new communication channels and online communities, opened a new line of virtual world services and made 9th Insight to become an agency specializing in connecting brands with large online communities using social media and virtual worlds.

THE NAME

The name 9th Insight has its origins in the James Redfield novel The Celestine Prophecy. We like many others read this wonderful book and reacted to its message. The parable of life that Redfield tells corresponds in many ways with the ideals that guide our company. If you are familiar with Redfield's book you may find it's wisdom in our guiding principles:

  • There is no such thing as coincidence; each encounter has a purpose.
  • When you see and appreciate the beauty of things you receive energy.
  • The more beauty we see the more we evolve.
  • It is more important to ask the right questions than to get the right answers to the wrong questions.
  • By carefully listening to others and answering in truth, both they and we are empowered.
  • By sharing our insights with others we in turn receive from them.
  • Technology is a force that can enhance and profoundly change our lives.

PRINCIPALS

JAVIER KRASUK   |   CEO, FOUNDER

Javier Krasuk is the CEO of 9th, which he co-founded in 1996. Javier leads 9th’s projects with Fortune 100 and 500 companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Discovery Channel, Marriot, X-Box, Mediaset, Microsoft and Panasonic among others in the private sector, and with International Organization such as The World Bank Group, IMF,OEA, IDB and IFC.

Trained with a Master of Sciences in Architecture, and winner of an International Silver Medal of Architecture, he applies his skills in providing unique and innovative perspectives to the creativity process balancing 9th client’s needs with their business goals and objectives.

Since 1996, Javier Krasuk has being directing high-end Marketing-Communication strategies, Ad Campaigns, Web Portals for Internet-Extranet-Intranet, Virtual Communities, Rich-Media productions, Soundtrack productions and post-productions, Events organization and International Products and Services Launches.

Javier leads 9th’s projects with Fortune 100 and 500 companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Discovery Channel, Marriot, X-Box, Mediaset, Microsoft and Panasonic among others in the private sector, and with International Organization such as The World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Organization of American States (OEA), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC).

Javier’s vision, direction and implementation of parallel communication channels though a B2B B2C and B2B2C provides 9th’s most demanding clientele with 360 marketing communications solutions.

 

FLORENCIA SAN MARTIN  BRÜCK |   PRESIDENT, FOUNDER

Founding partner and President of 9th Insight. Trained in Business Administration, she oversees and directs all aspects of the studio, from marketing to operations management, including client relations.

Florencia has a degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the ESH Buenos Aires, Argentina, with a specialization in Business Administration.

Since starting in the Internet industry in 1995, Florencia has had a hands-on role in almost every aspect of Marketing Strategies and Web development, from interface design and programming to content development and high-level marketing and communication strategies.

From startup stage to Fortune 500, Florencia has guided companies in designing Business and Marketing Strategies that integrate user goals and business objectives. She worked with companies such as Alcatel-Lucent, Mediaset, Discovery Channel, Marriot, Microsoft, Goldman Sacht, Altantic Films, PFC Energy and The Smithsonian Institution, among others. She’s worked with International Organization such as The World Bank Group, International Monetary Fund (IMF), Organization of American States (OEA), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and International Finance Corporation (IFC),  International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), International Council Commercial Arbitration (ICCA).

She takes a unique, multi-disciplinary approach to solving business problems, combining skills in strategy, logistics, communications, branding, information architecture, design, marketing and event management.

In addition to her work with 9th Insight, Florencia is an accomplished photographer and founder partner of Balmist Photography.
Photography awards: Jury’s honorary mention in the 4th Fotoclub Buenos Aires Award and the Jpeggy Photocloud  by Telecom Italia in collaboration with Amaci (Associazione dei Musei d’Arte Contemporanea Italiani).

She experiments with art to express personal feelings. Deeply interested in collective and individual unconscious, seeking universal enlightenment.

 

DENNIS JONES   |   VP VIRTUAL COMPUTER GRAPHICS

Mr. Jones is an Associate Professor and member of the faculty of the College of Architecture and Urban Studies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State. In 1995 the University of Arkansas honored Professor Jones as Distinguished Professor and Minority Fellow. He received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Michigan, followed by a Master of Science in Architecture degree and postgraduate study at Columbia University.

Mr. Jones teaches a design studio stressing the integration of computing into the design process. He also teaches computer programming courses in C/C++ and three-dimensional graphics; as well as courses in Computer Aided Design and Virtual Environments. Prior to his current academic appointment, Mr. Jones was a member of the faculty at Yale University and Mississippi State University.

He maintains an active consulting practice in computer graphics and information systems applications.

In 2005 Professor Jones co-founded Quantum Matrix Holdings, LLC a software development company focusing on multimedia database and graphics applications. Mr. Jones serves as President of 9th Insight, and as Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for  Quantum Matrix Holdings, LLC, located in Centenial Colorado.  9th Insight’s offices are located in Metropolitan Washington D. C. and Milan Italy.  9th Insight was recently honored to be an exhibitor at the Smithsonian Institute on web technology in the 21st century

In professional practice, he was a principal and director of computer services for the Ehrenkrantz Group, New York, New York. Prior to this he worked for Skidmore Owings and Merrill, where he was a senior designer and was involved in computer applications research and development.  His research work in video technology and CAD appears frequently in national publications such as Architecture Magazine. Mr. Jones has served as a Design Resource Expert for the National Mayor’s Institute on Design and has served since 1980 as a panelist and member of the advisory panel of the Design Arts Program of the National Endowment for the Arts.

Mr. Jones is a speaker of national and international reputation, he won the honor of best paper at a recent International conference on Systems Research and Informatics and Cybernetics held in Baden, Baden Germany. For a number years, Mr. Jones has been a featured speaker for the nations largest conference on design technology, AEC DESCON Systems. He has spoken at the National American Institute of Architects convention. Most recently professor Jones was invited to speak at The 6th International Conference on Design and Decision Support Systems in Architecture and Urban Planning. Held in the Netherlands in July 2002. His topic was the Quantum Matrix a Three Dimensional Data Integration and Collaboration Tool for Virtual Environments and the Desktop.
The Quantum Matrix was patented in 2004, patent pending.

In May 2005, Mr. Jones Traveled to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with a Team of Virginia Tech Students and Faculty to conduct a research study of the community of Veron in conjunction with the Bio-Diversity Center.

Professor Jones latest project is the construction of a virtual theatre that will seat over 100 people at the College of Arhitecture and Urban Studies’ Research and Demonstration Facility.

 

RODOLFO LOMASCOLO   |   DIRECTOR TECHNOLOGY

Rodolfo Lomascolo, nacido en Rosario (Argentina) hace 40 años, es Ingeniero Industrial Superior por la Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya, con especialización en Ingeniería Mecánica.

En la actualidad es Director del departamento de IT de 9th.com.

Rodolfo es tambien Socio-Director general de ipsCA, empresa fundada por él mismo en 1995 y posicionada como líder en España en servicios de certificación digital y en la fabricación de soluciones de firma electrónica. Previamente había creado la empresa Lomascolo & Vernis (1993), dedicada a desarrollos y formación para Lotus Notes hasta su compra dos años después por la multinacional Cap Gemini, del grupo Sogeti.

Anteriormente fue Jefe de Ingeniería de Producción del CIM de la Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya y el Institut Català de Tecnología (1990), así como miembro del equipo de I+D de Adasoft S.A. (1991-1992).

Desde 2005 preside el Grupo de Trabajo de Prestadores de Servicios de Certificación Digital de ASIMELEC, así como el Grupo de Trabajo de DNI Electrónico de dicha asociación.
